Hello,

sorry if there is an existing topic about Scratch-making car (search function does not find anything about it), but I have some questions about it:
1. What should be default size of the car in-game?
2. How do I make parts from the blueprint?
3. How do I set textures on the car?
I'm having BMW 3 GT F34 (blueprint) and I wanted to make it.
Please respond. Thanks!

Hi,
I'm glad to see somebody new trying to model a car from scatch wink

1. Do this not until you're ready with modelling.
If you model in Blender, the size is no problem (i dont know how to do in another program).
Just look after the length of your car in wikipedia and use the standard lines in Blender with a distance of 1 meter to scale your car
Example: (normally if you finished the complete car...)
http://abload.de/img/jag_sizekesi0.jpgThis Jaguar has a length of 4,47 m

2. If you mean how to seperate the blueprint in the four parts, there is an easy answer: You don't need to do this.
http://abload.de/img/jag_bpztjm5.jpgAs you can see on the picture, you can take the whole blueprint and don't have to seperate it. You just have to take the right coordinates.
There are good Tutorials on Youtube. But they are very different, because there are many ways to set the blueprints.

3. I usually set textures not until I'm ready with the model wink
You have to map your car with the UV/Image Editor in Blender (the frame on the right side):
http://abload.de/img/jag_mappingcjkdj.jpgYou need to select a part of the mesh (in the edit mode), then press 'U' and click on 'Project from view'. If you have done this to the whole car, export the UV Layout with a click on 'UVs' and 'Export UV Layout'. Now you can put textures on it in any program for picture editing (like GIMP)
Theres a good tutorial here on eleven-games, but its in german (Link)
On youtube are good tutorials, too

Sorry for incomplete Explanation, but I have not that much time at the moment wink

You can seperate a mesh if you select the faces in the editmode and push P- selected
